Finding the right evening atmosphere in Agadir depends entirely on your mood. Sometimes you want a lively sports bar, and other times you need a quiet table for two. After many evenings exploring the city and its surroundings, I have put together my personal guide to Agadir nightlife, dining, and daytime shopping. Here is where I go when I want to enjoy a good meal, relax with a drink, or find the best local market prices.
1. Casual Evenings and Sports at Le Maxwell
When I want a relaxed evening with good food, draft beer, and live sports, my first choice is Le Maxwell. Located in the Complexe Touristique de Tamlalt, it offers a pub-style atmosphere without losing its restaurant character.
I often go there to enjoy a steak and a glass of wine. It is one of my favourite places in Agadir to watch English football because there are several screens and usually a lively crowd. Later in the evening, the mood often changes: English tracks give way to Moroccan music as more local guests arrive to spend the night. For me, the combination of draft beer, sport, music, and a clean, welcoming setting makes Le Maxwell an easy choice for a casual night out.
2. Traditional Flavours at La Lampara
When I am craving Moroccan comfort food, I head to La Lampara. Tucked away in a cosy courtyard near Boulevard du 20 Août, this restaurant feels removed from the busiest tourist streets.
My usual order is a traditional tagine paired with a good red wine. The menu also includes Moroccan and international dishes, while the drinks selection gives you several ways to accompany the meal. I enjoy the friendly service and the relaxed terrace, especially when I want conversation and good food rather than a loud party.

Because it is outside central Agadir, I arrange the return journey before dinner. I ask Agadir Shuttle Port for a lift and agree on a pickup plan, so I know how I am getting back to Agadir when the evening is finished. No visit to Agadir is complete without exploring a market. Souk El Had is famous, central, and convenient, but it is also popular with visitors. For my daytime shopping, I prefer the Inezgane souks, a short journey south of Agadir.
Inezgane is a major commercial and wholesale centre for the wider Souss-Massa region. Its permanent Souk Tlat, organised Souk Al Houria, and specialist markets sell food, clothing, crafts, leather goods, pottery, jewellery, household items, and much more. The city’s wholesale trade helps supply merchants and markets across the region, which is one reason the atmosphere feels so local and trade-focused.
I enjoy the energy, the variety, and the chance to compare prices away from the most tourist-oriented shopping streets. Inezgane is busier and less polished than a souvenir market, but that is exactly what makes it interesting. Take your time, carry small-denomination cash, ask before photographing people, and bargain respectfully.
Practical Tips for a Great Night Out in Agadir
- Reserve in advance: Popular venues can fill quickly, especially on weekends or entertainment nights.
- Check the programme: Music, live entertainment, sports screenings, menus, prices, and opening hours can change. Contact the venue before making a special journey.
- Plan the return trip: Never drink and drive. For Taghazout Bay or a late dinner, pre-book a private transfer and agree on the pickup location and time.
- Bring cash for the souk: Restaurants often accept cards, but Moroccan dirhams in smaller notes are useful in local markets.
- Respect the setting: Agadir nightlife is relaxed, but individual venues may have reservation or dress expectations. A quick call avoids surprises.
